It began with a simple meal order and a startling discovery. When our founder Hamza O noticed that his favorite local restaurant was charging higher prices than he remembered, he asked the owner why. The answer changed everything:

"We don't have a choice. The delivery apps take 24% of everything we make, plus they charge extra fees. Either we raise our prices, or we close our doors."

This wasn't just a business inconvenience—it was the story of family restaurants across Morocco struggling to survive while international delivery platforms extracted wealth from local communities. Behind each percentage point was a restaurant owner working longer hours, a chef making less than they deserved, and customers paying more than they should.

Hamza couldn't stand by and watch as the vibrant restaurant culture of Morocco—with its rich traditions and family legacies—was slowly being hollowed out by algorithms and distant shareholders. That night, Ochi was born as a promise: to help restaurants break free from this cycle.
